Pain is a part of being human. "Pain" is a part of being human. "Suffering" occurs when we say we shouldn't feel this way. We can't avoid pain, but we can choose not to add suffering to our loss. The goal in recovering from a traumatic loss is for us to move, or be helped to move, through our pain without suffering.
Affirmation: I will move through my pain without adding suffering to my loss.
